My sister and I took part in our first wedding show on January 10th at The 8th Annual Bridal Extravaganza was held at the Regatta Room in Eliot, Maine. At this show Sarah and I shared a table and infused our love of cake and paper together! I have been wanting to do a collaboration with her for a really long time so this was a great chance to do that. In the center of our table we showcased her beautiful pink peonies invitations and I created my first faux show cake equipped with sugar peonies.
Sarah had all her amazing wedding invitations out on her side of the table which I had a little snack for future brides to enjoy. I decided to make four different types of cupcakes - chocolate cupcake with a salty caramel filling topped with a chocolate ganache (yummy!), red velvet with cream cheese frosting, orange spiced carrot cake with a cream cheese frosting, and lastly a lemon cupcake with a fresh raspberry filling topped with a buttercream. We both created portfolios that showcased our best work. Sarah's included her letterpress and gocco screen printed invitations and mine included my wedding cakes, grooms cakes, candy and dessert tables, and cupcakes.
Overall the show was a great experience and really fun! We had a chance to meet with other vendors including Flowers by Leslie and Espresso Dave's Coffee who are also vendors on my Kate Parker Wedding. Sarah and I also had a chance to bounce different ideas off of each other and make plans to do more collaborations in the future!
