Okay so I am not one for plain cakes - it is just not my style. But just because you are plain on the outside doesn't mean anything about the inside.
I created this cake last week for one of my best friend's 24th Birthday. He has a fondness for rainbows and anything Britney so I thought this cake would be absolutely perfect for him! The pizazz and wow-factor can be found under the tasty buttercream! Seven colorful layers creating a beautiful and delicious rainbow cake!
This cake looks amazing and it is also quite easy to create! All you need is to combine all the ingredients for a white cake.
1. First, divide the batter equally among 6 different bowls. The only real tricky part of this cake is making sure the batter is even.
2. I used a small kitchen scale and you will first need to weigh your mixing bowl before before combing all the ingredients for you cake. Once you know how much your mixing bowl weighs combine all your ingredients, then place the bowl on the scale again. Take this weight and minus the weight of the mixing bowl. Divide this number by six and that is how much batter you will need!
3. Before you place any batter in your six bowls make sure you weigh the six bowls to make sure you put the appropriate amount of batter.
4. Once you have your batter evenly divided place a small amount of appropriate food coloring in each batter.
5. Now your batter is colored use a nine inch greased and floured pan to bake your cake. Do this for every color.
6. Let your cakes cool and then you fill and frost the cakes!
7. Lastly, enjoy! :)
